Tips to save energy on Valentine’s Day

It’s Valentine’s Day and most people are gearing up to head out on dates to express their love to their significant other. However, if you’re opting for a quiet date night at home, remember that your ideal night might not be so ideal for your energy bill.

Here are some tips from Robin Hood Energy that will spread the love to your wallet and to your special someone:

  • Set the mood

When creating the perfect atmosphere for your Valentine, dim your lights or use candles. Nothing says romance like a candle-lit-dinner

  • Turn off the TV

If you want to focus on your date, turn off your phone and TV. You’ll have a more meaningful time and save energy

  • Turn the thermostat down and spend time cuddling together

By turning the thermostat off the heater down a little, you may save a good sum of money yearly. Save more and spice up the night by turning the thermostat down and cuddling under a blanket on the sofa

  • Share a shower

It’s cheaper to share a shower, as a bath uses more energy. Just be careful of the slippery floors

  • Use cool temperature to wash the laundry the next day

Any laundry that needs washing the next day, like tablecloths, napkins, towels, and sheets can be washed at 30C in your washing machine.
