Robin Hood Energy Wins First Major Trade Union Contract

Robin Hood Energy have today (Thursday 15th August) announced an agreement to supply one of the largest trade unions with 100% green electricity* from 1st September.

The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) is the UK’s largest civil service trade union who also work in the private sector, usually in areas that have been privatised.

Robin Hood Energy’s ethos as a company played an important part in the negotiations. As an organisation, trade unions are famous for championing the rights of workers across the UK and ensuring they get the best possible conditions. Similarly in the energy market Robin Hood Energy has spent the last four years helping to redress the balance in the energy industry in favour of the consumer and championing the public’s right to access fairly priced energy.

Gail Scholes, Chief Executive Officer for Robin Hood Energy said: “It’s great to partner with PCS on their energy needs. They like us spend their days ensuring members get the best possible deals or conditions in the workplace. This is exactly what we have been trying to achieve in the energy market, so it’s a natural fit for us as a business to work with an organisation like PCS.”

Mark Serwotka, General Secretary for PCS, said: “I’m very pleased that PCS is the first national Trade Union to switch our energy contract to Robin Hood Energy. Their publicly-owned, not-for-profit ethos and values fit with our view that services are best run for public good and not for private greed”.

Robin Hood Energy is now urging other Trade Unions to join PCS and take their energy supply from the UK’s first publicly owned not-for-profit energy company. Our dedicated business team can be contacted on 0800 0121 661, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, or you can get a quote online by visiting

The deal sees Robin Hood Energy officially takeover the supply of their business premises from 1st September.
