Robin Hood Energy launches Extra Support Hub on its 4th Birthday

Robin Hood energy was launched on September 7th, 2015 and we’re the first council owned energy supplier to enter the energy market. Set up by Nottingham City Council, Robin Hood Energy is on a mission to tackle fuel poverty, not only in Nottingham but across the UK. Looking back over the last four years, Robin Hood Energy has gone from strength to strength and 2019 has been another a great year for us.

Here are some of our key achievements (and happiest moments) from the last 12 months. From powering 1 in 10 homes in the Nottingham city, to being voted as the 2nd best energy company for Customer service in the 2018 Which? Survey.

Last year, one of the initiatives we wanted to focus on more closely was how we help our most vulnerable customers. We have set up a specific Vulnerability Department, which is a specialist team dedicated to finding and helping our most vulnerable customers.

Our team of policy and efficiency experts will help us find new ways to identify and support the people who are struggling with the cost of energy. Unlike many other energy suppliers, Robin Hood Energy’s commitment to vulnerable customers involves actually working alongside a number of charities, such as Turn2Us, Advice UK and Money & Pensions Service to make a bigger difference in people’s lives.

To celebrate our Birthday, Robin Hood Energy is launching our “Extra Support Hub” designed to provide customers with a number of energy and non-energy related resources. The hub is available to everyone, not just Robin Hood Energy customers and is split into 5 sections:

  1. Energy Efficiency Advice
Resources to help people become more energy efficient.

  2. Money Advice
Providing tools and support to help people take control of their finances.

  3. Crisis Support
If anyone is concerned about their financial situation or mental health, they can contact our Vulnerability Team for personal help and support

  4. Priority Services Register Promise
Eligible customers can receive extra help and support from communication method, access and safety needs.

  5. Warm Home Discount
All the information you need on the WHD scheme and how to apply.

Check out our Extra Support Hub.

As Robin Hood Energy enters its fifth year, our ambition remains the same. To keep our customers front of centre of our business. We have exciting plans to further improve customer service through new technology and continue to challenge the energy market. With the help of our new vulnerability colleagues we are able to look after our vulnerable customers and lead a growing movement of council run energy suppliers across the UK who are determined to put the people back at the heart of energy supply.
